Kansas City Royals 2012 Baseball Season Review
By Kansas City Royals Baseball Tickets Staff Writer: R. Murray
Year in Review:
It was a disappointing year, but we would like to focus on the bright spots.
This star reached a career high in home runs with 29 and became the first Royal to reach 100 RBI since Carlos Beltran in 2003 and he still hit .313. We watched him and found that his year earned him an appearance at the All-Star Game, where he received the loudest cheers from our hometown crowd!!
This player cemented his case as the Royals most valuable player, leading the American League in doubles, approaching a .300 batting average and playing even better in the outfield than he did in his Gold Glove winning 2011 season.
He went from a smooth shortstop who the team could live with if he hit .250 to a true threat at the plate, reaching career highs in base hits, doubles, home runs and stolen bases. He did so while playing an impressive shortstop, displaying remarkable range to both sides, a strong arm and good instincts.
The 2012 season ended with 72 wins and lost 90 games.
Thank you fans for buying tickets and for coming out to the stadium!
