Kauffman Stadium Experience
The Kansas City Royals play at legendary Kauffman Stadium. Since July 2, 1993, the venue has been known as Kauffman Stadium in honor of the Royals' founding owner, Ewing Kauffman. Kauffman Stadium has been described as one of the nicest stadiums in all of baseball and professional sports. In an era where most stadiums were being built for multi-purpose, Kauffman Stadium was designed specifically for baseball. Many of the multi-stadiums were built in the “cookie-cutter” shape and had poor sight lines. Kauffman Stadium has great sight lines.
Kauffman Stadium Improvements
Kauffman Stadium was awarded the 2012 MLB All-Star Game. The stadium is over 37 years old, making it the sixth-oldest stadium in major-league baseball. The stadium recently underwent a $250 million renovation, which began after the 2007 season and was completed in July 2009. In 1985, the Kansas City Royals clinched Game 7 of the World Series at Kauffman Stadium.
